I graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in May 1993, with a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor degree. During law school, I was one of the Charter Members of the Southern Illinois American Inn of Court and a member of Lincoln’s Inn. I also received the Leann and Paul Conti Scholarship. Additionally, I was instrumental in bringing the Health Policy Law Moot Court Competition to Southern Illinois University Law School as an annual event. I was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 1993 and admitted to the Florida Bar in July 1994. I was admitted to Federal Court in the Middle District of Florida in March 1995 and to the Southern District of Florida in April 2000. I became an Illinois Mediator on January 16, 1993 and a Florida Certified Civil Mediator on May 21, 2004 and an Appellate Mediator in May 2011.
I went into private practice in September 1998. I have solo tried jury cases involving 1st PBL Felony Burglary with a Battery, Attempted 1st degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, 10/20/Life crimes and other felony offenses. I have handled various Traffic offenses including Traffic Tickets, DUI, BUI, suspended DL, and Reckless Driving, and also drug Possession, Domestic Violence, fishing violations and other Misdemeanors. I have handled thousands of criminal defense cases since 1994, including appeals, motions to suppress evidence, motions to dismiss criminal cases, cases involving DNA evidence, hundred of depositions, over 100 jury trials and over 300 trials before a judge without a jury (called bench trials).
